Obviously there are medical conditions that can have an effect on implant healing and we need to know about these as soon as possible, as they can modify your treatment plan. However, there are very few conditions that mean you can't have dental implants.
A full medical history will be taken as suitability is assessed. In most cases if the situation is known about and managed, dental implants will be possible.
Examples of medical conditions that may be an issue include but are not confined to;
- I.V bisphosphonates
- recent heart attack or cardiac surgery – 6 months
- diabetes
- high blood pressure
- Myasthenia gravis
- INR (clotting ratio) > 3.0
