Stabilising Dentures

Denture stabilisation is mainly used to improve the stability, comfort and effectiveness of dentures. There are a number of methods to stabilise dentures, the most effective is using dental implants to anchor the denture. The dental implants are inserted into sockets in the jaw bone and replace the root portion of missing teeth.

Implants are perfect for denture wearers because they provide a great level of support and anchorage.

Denture Stabilisation Procedure

If you choose mini implants the procedure will be different from regular dentures,as we may not need to open up the gums in order to place the implant. Instead the mini implant can be directly placed into the jaw.

The mini implants procedure is quicker than regular implants, usually taking about an hour or so. You should also be able to enjoy some food within a few hours after the procedure.

Will the procedure hurt?

Most patients find the procedure is painless, normally only requiring mild local anaesthetic. However, in some cases there may be some slight discomfort after the procedure, but it won’t last long. Generally patients are quite impressed with the comfort and speed of the procedure.

How long does treatment take?

Unlike regular dental implants, mini dental implants can be inserted quickly with the whole procedure usually taking an hour.
